Azerbaijan commemorates victims of Khodzhaly tragedy

Today is 18 years after the Khodzhaly tragedy, when at night on February 26, 1992, the city of Khodzhaly in Nagorno-Karabakh, inhabited by Azerbaijanis, was seized by Armenian armed formations with participation of the 366th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the former Soviet Army.

Authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh plan to launch airport this autumn

Construction of the Stepanakert Airport continues in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). Anait Vardanyan, Minister of Town-Planning, has noted that construction goes on at a high rate, and by October 2010 the Airport will receive first passengers.

OSCE Mission fixed no ceasefire violations by Karabakh or Azerbaijan

Shakhnazaryan: Moscow wants to make parallel format in Karabakh process

Russia tries to change the format of the Minsk OSCE Group and is interested to set up a parallel intermediary format in the Karabakh process. This is the opinion of David Shakhnazaryan, a member of the oppositional Armenian National Congress and former chairman of the local KGB.

Azerbaijan reports casualties of skirmish in Karabakh conflict zone

Three soldiers of the Azerbaijani Army were lost and one more wounded as a result of the skirmishes that burst out in the contact line of the Karabakh conflict zone. This was reported on February 18 by Eldar Sabirogly, head of the press service of Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan. The Karabakh party refutes the data about the victims and the incident as such.

Nagorno-Karabakh: invalids undergo medical examination

In the end of 2009, the Centre of Medical-Sanitary Examination held a control physical examination of invalids. After that, some of them were dissatisfied with change of the category or complete lifting of their disability status, and with deprivation of privileges.

Mamedyarov: Azerbaijan accepts, as a whole, updated "Madrid Principles"

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that Elmar Mamedyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, has stated that Azerbaijan accepts, in general, the updated version of the "Madrid Document" on Karabakh settlement. This version was presented to Azerbaijan and Armenia by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the countries-co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - US, Russia and France - at the OSCE summit in Athens last December.
